BIOGAS DESULPHURISATION
BIOGAS DESULPHURISATION
Biogas is produced in numerous fields, among the main agriculture and livestock industry that generate waste used in anaerobic digestion to produce biogas containing methane (CH4), that can be used in generation of electricity and heat (CHP) or biogas upgrading for vehicular use and grid injection.
However generated biogas is mainly composed of CH4 and CO2, it also contains approximately 1% pollutants, being the most challenging the hydrogen sulphide (H2S) that deteriorates CHP engines, generates odors, and in high concentrations can be poisonous and yield environment contamination.
The selection of the proper biogas desulphurisation technology depends on the biogas final quality required, as well as the addition of thermal drying, biological desulphurisation and refining by activated carbon adsorption. The optimized combination of biogas cleaning technologies leads to better results in biomethane quality, better energy efficiency, low operating costs and low environmental impact.
dBiox®Biological desulphurisation systems
ECOTEC biological desulphurisation systems dBiox®Bioscrubber and dBiox®Biotrickling are proven sustainable and clean technologies, totally reliable and customized solutions for medium to very high H2S content in biogas streams, where activated carbon filters, chemical scrubbers or biofilters would result in unreasonable and substantially higher operating costs.
